Happy Sunday, Friends! I am LOVING spending time outdoors with Easton. Watching him run around and learn new things is one of the best joys I have ever experienced in life. He just genuinely makes everything better! The day these photos were taken, we spent the day with some friends at Braehead Farm. It's such a cute little place that the kids can see some animals, play in the dirt, pick in season berries and just have a great time. If you are close to the Fredericksburg area, I highly recommend it! We go often! I recently received a new diaper bag from Lily Jade, and I wanted to share my (honest) review with you guys! Plus, what I am carrying around in my diaper bag these days. It has changed a bit since I did my last blog post on it. Easton has grown up a little. So his needs have changed along with it! Lily Jade sent me the Anna Large Diaper Bag in Blush and Silver. I have to say that I really love it. It has a TON of space inside it. It has the iconic pretty teal coloring on the inside, and zippers that work like butter. My favorite thing (and I have found to be an absolute must) is that it can be carried as a backpack! Wearing it backpack style makes life so much easier. I am able to run around after Easton with it, and it isn't a problem. This particular bag also comes in a smaller size and in two other colors! I also really love how spacious it is. There are tons of compartments. So I am able to keep things organized in there! Everything has it's place. I think it is going to be the perfect diaper bag to help us transition from one boy to two once Asher arrives! I definitely won't be using anything else! So...here is the list of items I have been keeping in my diaper bag for Easton and myself (who is currently 2 years old).
I hope you guys found this helpful!! I really do love this bag from Lily Jade. It is by far my favorite bag I have ever owned!
Until next time! XOXO, Krista

Happy Monday!! The fact that it is already time for me to pack my hospital bag is INSANE! This pregnancy has flown by. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant, and very ready to meet the newest member of our family. This week the nesting has really hit. I have been cleaning and organizing like a crazy person. So I figured it was the perfect time to get all packed and ready. I asked my IG friends what they absolutely had to have when they were at the hospital, and got great feedback. So knowing what I know from Easton, plus the recommendations from all of you, I have come up with this list. I feel totally confident and ready for the big day! I also feel like I only really packed the necessities. I tried to make sure that I didn't take my entire house (like I tend to do when I go anywhere). Let me know what you think. Was there something I don't have on this list that you find to be an absolute necessity?! My Hospital Bag Necessities: (products linked)
**The dress I am wearing in these pictures is from Pink Blush. I love it! It is so comfortable. It fits well at 37 weeks, and it would be super cute when I'm not pregnant also! I hope you guys found this helpful! Thank you for taking the time to read it! xoxo, Krista
Happy Monday, everyone! I am so excited to share today’s blog post: my baby boy nursery reveal! I worked with buybuy BABY to get Asher’s nursery essentials. We bought all of Easton’s furniture from there a little over 2 years ago. We were so impressed with them that we wanted to buy Asher’s big items from there as well!
I personally LOVE buybuy BABY. I could spend all day in there browsing and shopping. There is always a new baby or toddler item to check out. They have great price points, and always have deals and coupons available. They are a one-stop-shop that I totally recommend for all families that are expecting, and/or parents of babies and little ones! The two nursery essentials we purchased from buybuy BABY are Asher’s crib and dresser. I am so in love with them. Easton has white furniture, so I wanted to do something different for Asher’s room which is why I chose grey. I have to be honest, and say that I was a little nervous about choosing grey furniture. His nursery is small, and I was worried that it would make the room look too dark. But I was wrong! I love love love the grey furniture we chose. It looks so good! I made sure to use a lot of whites as well to ensure it would be as light and bright as I wanted it to be. I am so happy with the outcome.
We ended up buying the Child Craft Forever Eclectic SOHO 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Grey. I love the modern feel and clean lines. It also transitions into a toddler bed, a day bed, AND a full-size bed. The versatility, and the fact that it can grow with Asher, really helped us to choose this particular crib. I can’t wait to see him in it.
The dresser we chose matches the crib, the Child Craft Forever Eclectic SOHO 3- Drawer Dresser in Grey. It has 3 large drawers that open and close so smoothly (which is always important to me). It’s the perfect size for the room, not too large and not too small. I have been able to fit so much into it, with room to spare. We used 20% coupons on both of these items, which saved a ton of money!
As always, buybuy Baby made shopping for these nursery essentials a total breeze. The sales associates were super helpful, and the furniture arrived within a week or two of ordering. You should definitely check out all they have to offer whether you are an expecting parent or already have a little one!
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my nursery. You can check out the links to the other adorable pieces of décor below. There are so many personal touches in here that I just adore. I can’t wait to welcome our sweet baby boy home into it!
XOXO, Krista (and Easton)

Easton is TWO! How can that be!? Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was sitting in the NICU with him praying to get to take him home? Well maybe not, but it certainly feels like it. The past two years have flown by. Seriously. FLOWN. BY. When I think back over our time together, I feel joy. It has been a crazy, often stressful, but the most amazing two years of my life. With that being said, Easton has changed so much in just the past month that sometimes he seems like a different kid. I wanted to remember all of these things, so I thought a blog post was in order. Easton has quickly turned into what I like to call a “twonager”. His mood swings will give you whiplash if you let them. One second he is throwing a temper tantrum because I won’t let him eat the dog food, and one minute later he is giving me hugs and kisses as if the entire tantrum didn’t happen. He also seems to have “selective hearing”. He 100% will ignore me if he sees fit in the moment. If he doesn’t want to go to bed, he just doesn’t hear me telling him- super convenient for him, not so much for me! He also has this new-found independence. He wants to do everything on his own, on his terms. But, he also can be super clingy and snuggly too. Every time he falls down or even does the smallest thing that could possibly hurt a tiny bit (but not enough to really hurt), he will run over to me, whining, with his arms in the air ready for a hug and kiss to make it all better. I’m not going to lie, I totally love this one. I will soak up every second of it too. Since turning two, I have noticed that his speech is really starting to explode. Is he saying full words yet? No. But is he making progress in his speech? YES! He has been using so many more signs lately and trying to say more words. His expressive communication is starting to blossom. I will often times get frustrated with his speech delay. I only get frustrated, when he feels frustrated. I can tell when he wants to tell me something and just can’t get it out. That is often when the tantrums will arise. I hate seeing him not be able to do something he so badly wants to. It’s definitely a mom heart crusher. During these times though, I just have to remind myself of how far he has come. I know he will get there soon. We just have to keep working at it, and have patience in the meantime. Easton has also been really loving to sing, dance, and read books. He loves loves LOVES to sing and read. Those two things are probably his favorite. There are so many times during the day that I will find him sitting quietly looking at a book, or he will bring me one to read. I pray his love for books just continues to grow as he gets older! Easton has been into running and climbing lately too. We used to be able to contain him in the living room with an old ottoman- that life is SO over. He can very quickly climb over it now and escape. So, toddler proofing has become very important around here!
At his two-year checkup, he weighed 25 pounds and was 33 inches long. He is currently hitting a growth spurt because all of his clothes seem to have gotten smaller over night! Most days he is a great eater, but some days he can be very picky. Those days require a lot of patience. He is also getting his two-year molars. They are coming in VERY slowly. But for the most part, he is doing well with it. I am loving this stage of Easton’s life. He learns something new every single day. He is loving and caring, while being quite the rough and tumble boy that he is. I can’t wait to see how much he continues to learn and grow over the next few months! Then the next stage of our life will be here….life with a little brother! I can’t wait! Our family is growing quickly. I can’t believe that I am already 22 weeks pregnant with baby number two! It has gone by so much faster this time around. I think because I have Easton to keep me busy. I hardly ever have time to think about being pregnant. However, he is always sure to remind me with his sweet little kicks! With a new family member quickly arriving, there is a lot to think about. My main concerns are how adding a member to the family is going to change the dynamic. How will Easton handle it? The other concern is having enough space. He will be little when he arrives, but a new person needs new space! With that being said, we have been looking around for a new home that will give us the space we are in need of. West Walk at Embrey Mill is a new community located in Stafford, Virginia where I teach. They invited us to come check out their model homes by Drees Homes. Of course, they were GORGEOUS, and checked all of our must have boxes for a home. The sense of community they have, and are continuing to create, is absolutely amazing. It reminds me of a Disneyland of living. The walkable neighborhood has everything from top rated schools, great grocery stores nearby, dog parks, playgrounds, a pool, coffee and bistro shop, and so much more. One of the must haves we want in our next home is an open floor plan. It is so helpful with small children in being able to see them from both of the main living areas! The Rowan model by Drees Homes definitely had this! I could see everywhere in the living room and the open floor concept would be great for entertaining as well. I can just picture great birthday parties for my boys with all of our friends and family members! My second favorite feature of the home was the master bedroom and bathroom. You can tell it was really thoughtfully laid out. There is plenty of space in both areas of living, so you don’t feel claustrophobic in your own home. It also has SO MUCH STORAGE! The master bedroom is a total dream with built in book cases and the master bath has a ton of storage for linens and towels, along with the huge his and hers master closets! Seriously, I would love to have all of that storage. I can just picture all the organization that would be happening! Lastly, I simply adored the basement or lower level of the home. I love all the possibilities that come with it. The model was decorated as a TV and game room, and we had a ton of fun playing down stairs! As soon as I walked down there, I could just picture Easton and his brother hanging out with friends. They would be watching TV, playing video games, hanging out with friends, or working on school projects! The possibilities are endless! I am so excited about the possibility of a new home with all of these amazing features. Thank you, Embrey Mill and Drees Homes, for inviting us to tour your beautiful homes and community! We are in love!
